CLIENT: TRICARE, The military health benefit
All US service members and their families are entitled to TRICARE, the military health benefit. To help our military understand and access health care, I “translated” highly technical medical and policy information into newsletters, briefings, and brochures. After updating each product to capture policy changes, cost increases, and contact information, I submitted products to legal review to ensure that all content registered below the 7th grade Flesch-Kincaid Readability scoring.
CLient: Veterans Affairs, ICARE
The Department of Veterans Affairs launched the ICARE—an acronym for VA’s core values: Integrity, Commitment, Advocacy, Respect, Excellence—branding campaign at 8 VA medical centers across the United States. To help these organizations implement ICARE at their own pace, I created an overview summary flyer, a comprehensive overview presentation, and an instructional ICARE Strategy PDF.
CLIENT: Veterans affairs, Veterans Affairs Learning University (VALU)
VALU administers the Change Academy program to help VA entities spearhead organizational change. Given the variety of email clients used by VA employees, leadership requested branded products that could be embedded on VALU’s website. In addition to PDFs, I storyboarded an overview video that offered a program summary without the heavier time commitments of the long-form articles.
